If you got some extra $$$ head over to Lynda.com and buy a 1 month subscription and watch the PT9 Essentials Tutorial. It will give you a great idea about how Pro Tools works and its features, and you can compare the 2 once you know a bit more about PT.

That said, you can make stellar mixes in either, or pretty much any DAW for that matter.

But in PT you get the 11R window

Yeehaw!! Everyone be sure to get your Pro Tools updated to the most recent versions suggested by Chimp in this thread.

And stay away from IE9, at least until AFTER the ERXP is installed. The ERXP will not install with IE9 installed, unless you want to try the same work around from the IE8 days (DWORD ect...). Best to just stay clear, or uninstall it before you install the ERXP.
