PT 7.4.1 |Automatically Disables Spotlight on Leopard 10.5.2

I KNOW that PT 7.4.1 is NOT officially Qualified for a G5 and Leopard 10.5.2 - so no need telling me.

This post is strictly for the folks as Cool or Dumb as me to run Leopard a little "Early"

I noticed that I was NOT able to use spotlight after having launched PT 7.4.1. After I quit PT I was still not able to use Spotlight.

So I though it was an OS X thing. I delete all the spotlight meta date on the drives thus forcing SL to re-index. In the indexing process I launched PT and SL would immediately seize indexing. After quitting PT I still cannot use SL...

So this is definitely an incompatibility -


I would love if someone running a Harpertown MacPro with Leopard 10.5.1 (compatible) to verify that his SL is working so that we can rule out a possible PT bug,.

That´s not a PT bug...it´s a known issue...this one´s belongs to Apple.

Did NOT happen on 10.5.1 with PT 7.4 - 100% NOT.

I have tried booting PT 7.4 and 10.5.1 from "old" disk - and on this setup it aint happening - So now what ?

Any Ideas or is this a "known Issue" on 10.5.2 - Only ?

Spotlight also doesn't work right on my powerbook G4 under OS 10.5.2, and I don't even have pro tools running on that computer! If you make create another user on your Mac, I bet a dozen doughnuts Spotlight will work fine on that account!
