Default Slow starting PT since 7.4cs2

Hi all,

Since upgrading to 7.4. cs2, it takes forever to start ProTools.
It gets stuck on loading certain plugins (Sony Oxford, Trim, WaveShells, Sound Toys).
I'm going through the version compability grid, but it seems ok so far.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Best,
Fredrik

Hi,

Every time you make a change to the plugins folder, I.e remove or ad a plugin then the cache has to be re built everytime you boot PT, once you've loaded and settled with all your plugs it should start to boot faster.

Or as you say, you might have an out of date plug causing problems!

Some plugins do take longer to load up? so have you installed any new plugs at the same time as 7.4.

Chris

Hi Chris,

thanks for quick response!

I know about the "first time after messing with the plugins folder-start up time"
But this continues after that.
The only new plugin I've installed after cs2 is Melodyne studio 3.1.1.2.
But I removed the Melodye-bridge from the plug-in folder, cause it isn't the latest version.
(And I trashed the prefs.)
But I'm gonna start taking away plugins to see if I find the guilty one...

Best,
Fredrik
