Default Pro tools starting slow.

Is it normal for Pro Tools 6.7 to take ages to load when it gets to loading DAE? And could anyone please suggest a reason why my an is constantly on when using PT please? Thanks

How many plugins are installed on your system?
Many plugs = slow loading.

Yes, I have a LOT of plugins, must be this. Any ideas as to what the fan being on could be at all please?

Thanks

The fan is on because ProTools typically runs the CPU at 100%, even when PT is idle.

Hey Dr_38!

I have this exact same problem and it's driving me crazy. The launch process gets stuck at "DAE Loaded" for about 3 to 4 minutes. It eventually does load but the wait is annoying. I don't think it's a plug in issue since this problem just started, after no significant changes to my "ProTools only" computer. I'm running the Digi and free BombFactory plugs only.

Did you ever resolve this issue?? Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried deleting the Digidesign Database files on your hard drives?

Thanks for the response, mpark!

I deleted all the folders as recommended by digi, but to no avail. Maybe I missed the database folders. I'll check it out asap!

Thanks,

Jay
