Default I need assistance on upgrade options.

Thanks to any who have the time to read this and offer advice. I am currently running ProTools HD 6.7 on a Mac G4. I've used this very stable platform for 7 years, the Mac for 10 years. As you may know I cannot upgrade Protools without a new computer. I would like to be able to continue to use my current PCI HD cards (the original versions) as well as my 96 i/o's when I upgrade. It is my understanding that the new Macs cannot accept these cards? Is that true? I would prefer to stay with Mac but if I can't use these cards my other option is a PC box, for instance Sweetwater sells the "creation station". One of those has PCI slots. Any ideas folks? I will have to upgrade ProTools also and all my plugins. So I don't want to have to buy new cards too. Or will I run into problems if I don't use these new PCIe cards with the new software? Awaiting your thoughts. Thanks again
Paul C.

All new versions ProTools will only be supported on iNTEL based macs and pc's correct? I don't want to replace one obsolete mac for another.....

Buy a PC or any new-ish Mac and a Magma Chassis.

Works perfectly.

Hi Paul - what kind of tracking / work do you do? If I were you I'd look into going PT10 standalone with a new interface on a new Mac Pro when they come out.
