Default Using 3 monitors on mac pro: need your advice

Hello everyone, I'd like to work with 3 monitors and I was wondering which graphic card to go with. My computer is a 2009 mac pro 2.26 8 core.

Cheers,

Toko

I'm using an ATI 2600 with a 2008 macpro, and a kensington display link device for the TV (3rd monitor). Been editing 1080p video (my side projects) for TV for about 3 months this way with no issues, and audio for video with PT 8 (now 9) also with no issues.

Get an AMD/ATI 5770 that come in the new Mac Pros. 2 mini DisplayPort connections and 1 DVI. All can be converted to VGA or HDMI easily.

Thanks Tom :) I hope you dont mind me asking, does it have to be AMD/ATI 5770? I see all sorts of ATI 5770 cards all have different prices. Also, are there any latecny issues with converting 2 mini DisplayPort connections and 1 DVI to VGA?

AMD is the new name for ATI. Make sure it's the Mac one, not the standard one.

No latency because it's not really a conversion, mini DP and DVI carry VGA anyway, all the connector does is give you access to that part of the signal.

Cool, shame it costs a lot more than the standard one. Let us know how you get on!
