Audio Re-linking For Remote Team Issue: PLS HELP!

So I've been having this issue with a team mate on the other side of the country on a recurring project, where his PT system won't relink the audio for one track.

The track contains the exact same files we both have on both our systems (he recorded it actually) but for some reason it will not relink on his system when I send the edit back, the only difference is that it is chopped up and comp'd onto a new playlist.

Any ideas?

(obviously for now we are bouncing the track and he's importing it, but this is kind of insane).

Thoughts:
Clip bin show-path can be useful.
Return to a session with the missing files. Save session copy including all audio.
Import track session data into current session.

Could the files have changed somehow when you imported them into your system?

So, if he recorded. Sent you the files, you imported the files and possibly converted them on import (Sample rate, bit depth etc) if you send back the session file but not the "new files" they won't relink.
