Default Anyone tried the Scheps 73?

http://www.waves.com/plugins/scheps-73

Looks interesting... I think I have too many EQ plug-ins right now, but I wouldn't hesitate to add another drop to the bucket. Any UAD users that have tried both?

Hi,

Expect it to be really good as are all their plugs, but the UAD EQ's are A-class and hard to beat.

No DSP version! not interested.

All of us Mercury TDM users paying WUP for many years have been royally dumped.

Included in Mercury? Wow, that hasn't happened in a while!

Might try it tomorrow, tonight I'm just too tired...

Tell me about it.

I don't think I'm going to buy anything from Waves until they support Avid HDX (as in AAX-DSP instead of some SoundGrid mess)

You know what? I like Waves. I really do, and while they are not the best at everything, they are certainly very good at a great many things...

Except for this Soundgrid thing. I haven't tried it - it may end up being the greatest thing in the audio world since shielded copper wire, but ushering in your own platform should involve increased functionality on your own systems (advantaged features) instead of reduced functionality or truncated support on existing non-Soundgrid systems.

"this soundgrid thing"

...is plain and simple like "Waves charged us TDM Mercury customers 2x price and while promising that all major DAW platforms would be supported, they just IGNORED AAX-DSP and instead released their own platform"

If AAX-DSP is not a major DAW platform, what is? Waves just took the easy way out and supported "AAX" as in its native version. So what difference there is in AAX-native and AU and VST and whatever native platform, compared to TDM (DSP) which was double price?

That's what made us TDM customers angry.

Did I not express the required amount of disdain?

I totally get it, Janne. You're not getting what you paid for. If I owned an HDX system, I would be very unhappy.

Yes you did, I just had to let some steam out. This whole PT11 transition has made me very angry about decisions that Waves, TC, AbbeyRoad, Serato, et.al have made.

Do not take this personally. It is just my rant about certain 3rd party vendors not serving us customers right. I have promised not to buy anything from the mentioned companies -- hardware or software -- until they have released their stuff.

I would have included Lexicon in this list, but I've heard they should be releasing stuff within few months, upgrades free of charge.

Hey - I agree with all the above and want/demand soundgrid/tdm plugs to be AAX64-DSP.

BUT -

That is all off topic -

Who has tried this new plug-in - how does it compare to other native 1037 clones? It may be worth $99.
