Can't Add Plugin From Mackie Universal Controller Pro

I just purchased a Mackie Universal Controller Pro with Version 4.0.3 firmware, which , I believe is the most current. I've followed the directions for inserting a plugin. I'm able to get to the correct instrument assignment, but when I turn the corresponding v-pot knob, nothing happens! The "No Insert" display just keeps flashing. Can anyone "walk" me through the process? Thanks Much!

Once you have got to the "No Insert" flashing part, you need to push the "plugin assign button (F6) which will stop the flashing and allow you to turn the channels v-pot to select the plugin you want and push plugin assign once more and there you have it! Push the v-pot again and you will be able to edit the plugin parameters.

1, plugin button from assignment
2, hold down the insert key and choose the channel you want the plugin on.
3, push the plugin assignment button (F6)
4, turn the v-pot to select the plugin you want
5, push the plugin assignment button again to add it to the channel.
6, once selected, push the v-pot again and you can edit the plugins parameters
