Default Is this possible?

Hi guys,

Is it possible to run:

PT 8.0.3 / HD3 accel (PCI-x)
on a new Intel Macbook Pro 17"
with a Magma PE6R4
connected with an expresscard?

Thanks,

Niels

sounds reasonable. if it works with the Mac Pro it should work with the Mac Book Pro as well.

NO

Not according to the Magma web site. The PE6R4 has only one host and it's a PCI express card. Other chassis do support ExpressCard host connection but I'm not sure if they work with ProTools.

Magma 4 slot PCIx chassis with "Pericom" chipset, PT HD2 Accel, OS 10.5.7 MBP 15" (Intel DuoCore 2) running perfectly for 2 years now.

Scott, the PE6R4 has the lowest latency. How is latency with the 4 slot chassis?

Thanks

haven't noticed it. Are you talking about with virtual instruments? I didn't buy into the G5 line, so I was coming off a dual G4. The Intel MBP rig SMOKES my old G4 HD rig.
