LE 6.1 Install not working

I just upgraded to Window XP and bought the LE 6.1 upgrade. When I try to do the upgrade, it reaches the point where it tries to install the driver and I get a message that says the drivers do not have a Windows logo. When I click on the "install anyway" option, the system locks up.

Can someone shed some light on what is going on. I followed the instructions that came with 6.1 for the upgrade.

Two seperate issues - the 'windows logo (driver signing) thing' is really just noise, it only means that Digi didn't jump through the hoops to get the driver registered with Microsoft, so the message is normal, and mentioned in the installation instructions.

The lockup is not normal, and you've supplied no information which might assist in diagnosis.

Well, maybe not no information, you mention upgrading to XP and using the 6.1 upgrade. So, what OS did you upgrade from, and did you already have a PTLE version installed? What Digi hardware? Did it work on XP prior to installing 6.1?

Sounds like there might be something leftover from the old installation causing problems.

that makes me think that the driver signing is set to block. you might want to double check to make sure it is set to ignore. i think that the 6.1 instructions are to have it set to ignore so you might have already check for it. but make sure...mykhal

Sorry for leaving out some details. I was upgrading from Windows ME, I had a Digi001 and Protools LE 5.1.1 running on the machine before the upgrade. I removed all old software and used a new install for XP rather than the upgrade. There is no network card or virus software on the computer. It is pretty much a stand-alone for PTLE. It is an AMD (ASUS A7M266 MoBo) with 512MB Ram.

It worked great with the older PTLE.

I've tried a lot of things. Reinstalling XP with the board out did not help.

Any ideas. Frustration index is getting high.

Still trying this morning. Moved Digi001 to another slot and still have the problems. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I finally figured out what the problem is. My A7M266 Bios was too old. I flashed the bios with version 1007 and bingo. Everything loaded just like the instructions.

If you have this problem go to www.asus.com and download the Bios. Be sure to read the instructions on flashing the Bios before you begin.

The only problem now is that I will need a new video card to support 1024x768, but everything is working at 640x480, just a little crowded.

and was planning to upgrade. What video card
did you have running before? I'm using a
Matrox 450. I assume that will be cool.

I had an S3 Trio with the 1996 copyright on it. I upgraded to the ATI All-In-Wonder VE and it works great with 64MB DDR memory on the card.
