show/hide automation lane button

Hi all,
I was wondering if someone could please help me. I'm running PT 8.0.3 LE.
I'm trying to learn MIDI and am studying a dvd called "PT 8: MIDI Explained."
In one of the lessons, they direct you to click on an upside down arrow in
the Pro Tools Edit window, which is the 'show/hide automation lanes button.'
My problem is that I don't have this button .

Is there a setting in Pro Tools I need to change, that will make this button
appear? I've gone through my hard copy of the PT8 manual, but for the life of me, can't seem to find any information on how to make this button appear
if it isn't currently showing. Everything is written with the assumption that
the button is already visible.

If someone could please help me find my missing button, I'd really appreciate it. I've been searching several days now for it, with no luck .

AKAIK this button is at the bootom of the left section on every track in the edit window.
I would screen capture, but I'm not near it right now.

EDIT: Its acctually in the track color bar, if this is hidden, go to view,edit window, track color. then you should see it at the bootom of the color bar.
