Default PT 10.3.7 not recognizing 002 rack

I am having a terrible time with my mac recognizing my 002 rack. Currently it is saying its an eleven rack. My laptop is also over riding my audio i/o by wanting to use my built in mic on my laptop only, stating that in my mix window when i try to change my inputs/outputs. My mac is running OS 10.7.5. I have 16GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ram and 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7 processor. Ever since i have upgraded from PT8 to PT10 i have had nothing but problems. Please help someone. I really miss being able to use my gear.

TD10 Drum set upgraded expansion pack
Phantom S88 upgraded expansion packs
V-Synth
G-synth
2 CDJ 1000MK2

I run everything through a M-audio midi 8x8 box slaved to the TD10 set. If anyone can help i will explain further as to how and what i do with my setup.

Sincerely

DJ Endeavour

If it were my system, I would probably try this...
  1. Go to www.avid.com/drivers
  2. Under USB Interfaces, download the latest versions for both the 002 Rack and Eleven Rack
  3. Open the Eleven Rack driver disk image first, and run the Avid Eleven Rack Uninstaller.app
  4. After the required restart, run the Avid 002 and 003 Family Uninstaller.app
  5. Then run the Avid 002 and 003 Family Installer.pkg
In your previous thread back in January, crizdee had some suggestions that may help again.

If after that you still are seeing anything saying you have an Eleven Rack, then you more than likely need to delete some old preferences.

Ok I did the steps from my first post and your more post from today. I still get the eleven rack i/o but now i can see the 002 in the playback engine drop down menu. You suggested deleting some older preferences but i wiped my drive clean. All my old PT files are on an external hard drive. Another problem staying the same is PT keeps setting my internal mic in the laptop as the i/o. Why and how do I stop it from doing that?

Not sure what you mean. Are you looking under "Your Products" where the downloads would be at https://account.avid.com or somewhere else?

Hope you didn't "hot swap" the firewire cable...this will destroy the controller chip inside the 002R. Before you move a cable, turn EVERYTHING off. Also, look at the serial number...if it ends in "A" thru "G" there was an issue with the power supply harness, which kept the unit from communicating with the computer. (Hoping that it would have been addressed by now, but worth checking.)

If it appears in system preferences, it indicates that it is most likely working and incorrect user configuration. Choose the 002 in OS X's system preferences, then choose it as your playback engine in Pro Tools.
