Default Plugin for gopro sound.

Hi

Probly a long shot but is the a plugin that can make gopro sounds more natural as opposed to the filtered hi spectrum brilliant sounds. I know I can do post work on it but just thought someone may have created a plugin to reverse gopro sound effect of the device as it has a very particular sound.

Well that's a loaded question, but there's no specific plugin that I'm aware of. And don't think that you have to have a certain number of plugins to process the sound to make it better - you may need several, or you might be able to do it with just one. I think it just takes some analysis in listening to figure out what you can do to improve the quality. My first thought would be EQ/Filter plugins, and there are tons to choose from, but I'd have to hear the audio to suggest anything more.

I have no idea what your audio sounds like, but when I'm filming video either on my phone or with my camera, I use a Zoom recorder in addition to the camera audio and sync it up to the video afterwards because I know the audio quality on the phone or camera is going to suck and the Zoom will (almost) always sound great!

Update: I can't see much in your screenshot but it seems you are using it already.

I also use a Zoom mounted on my camcorder recording in raw M/S. On board camcorder audio always seems to have the frequency response pushed at higher frequencies making it harsh.

Its a tricky one, I usually record in the field with a 633 shoeps cmit, cos11, dpa's and countryman I am just doing post on this one. But this is a project that has come to me with no scope for ADR. Its an amazing little story but the audio is in bad shape. I got all the hard hitting restoration software. I am going to just dive in as hard as I can before affect the fidelity and just rebuild all the atmos and foley sounds to try trick the human ear into thinking the audio is alot better than it is. One thing I will not be able to escape well at least not in a pragmatic way is the underwater plastic scrape handling sounds gopro suffer.
