Default Field Recorder Matching issue

The picture editor exported AAFs that don't have the whole file, just handles. I'm able to link back to the original sound roll audio using the Field Recorder Match, but the timecodes are off. THey seem to be random as well.

To test this, I imported original BWFs and the Avid files into the timeline and spotted them to their original time stamp. The two files are out of sync. Different sets of files are different amounts out.

I assume this is a something that's messed up in the picture dept. but not sure what to tell them to do.

thanks

I think your over thinking this

original TC would be that of the the TC on set at that take
the export would be that of were it is on the edited timeline

Don't think thats it. The time codes are both at 15hrs and the original time stamps have nothing to do with their position on the timeline.

Using the Metadata Browser:

The PRODUCTION AUDIO, sound roll TC and Original Time Stamp are the same 15hrs etc...

The AVID AUDIO has no Sound Roll TC but does have a Original Time Stamp. Again 15hrs etc...

So it seems that for some reason their is an offset as the truncated avid audio seems like it should matchup when I spot these into the timeline into their original Time Stamp Value. The problem here is that when I match back from the avid audio to the production audio using the "Matching Field Recorder Channels" I'm WAY outta sync.

define way out of sync.

3 hours or about the distance from the start of the avid region to the point at which you right clicked?

If the latter try moving a single avid audio region onto a new track and expanding the track rather than a single region and see what happens.

Also check out the new Ediload from Sounds in Sync and grab an audio EDL from the picture department.
