Spectrum Analyzer

Ok, ok, I am sure this has been asked before, but I have searched and I am not finding a good answer... What is the best spectrum analyzer plug for PT RTAS? I LOOOOVE Voxengo Span, but there is no RTAS. What is an equivalent? Thanks!

Blue Cat has a free spectrum analyzer that does everything I need.

I just tried that, but I don't like the fact that you can't set different styles of weighting.. Makes it difficult to tell how much low end is really rolled off.

Yep I noticed that before and was surprised even the Pro version did not support setting the windowing functions/weighting. But for my uses the default (rectangular) is fine.

BTW there is this Inspector XL http://www.rndigital.com/inspectorXL.html that supports Hanning, Rectangular, Blackman-Harris and Flat Top windowing. I cannot work out if they are still in business or what is going on with their web store redirecting to a generic placeholder.

Well, Since Roger passed away some time back they will likely go the way of 112dB... You can still find the plugs but there won't be any support or any further development.

Use the VST to RTAS wrapper. Works fine with Span.

SPAN is tops, no question. And it's free! I agree with Jorg. The ability to use SPAN in PT is, by itself, worth the $99 price of the fxpansion wrapper.
