Default Sound Issues

I really have three problems here, but hopefully they're related and have a common fix:

1) When I play the demo session, there's a lot of stuttering. I cranked the buffer size as high as could be and turned the CPU usage down to 75%--this helped a little, but the problem persists.

2) I opened up a template session (Songwriter--Piano), and that has a sample MIDI percussion track already recorded. The trouble is, no sound comes out. (This is also true for all MIDI tracks in the demo session.) It's using an instrument from Xpand!2. The "Instruments" view in the mix window has a meter that says something is happening, but the main meter for that channel doesn't register anything.

3) Every time I open a session, I get an error that reads "Some paths were made inactive because they could not be assigned to existing path definitions."

Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Did you install the latest drivers for the MBOX from Avid?

Is the Mbox selected as the Playback Engine (Setup > Playback Engine)? Also try setting the number of cores to one less than your computer has, to allow for background processes.

I think I figured it out, actually. I did a complete uninstall and reinstalled it in the C:\ rather than D:\ drive. Now it all works. Thanks!
