Default Problems With Waves in Pro Tools

I am having a problem getting my new waves platinum bundle to be recognized by Pro Tools. Any ideas why?

I've isntalled Waves three times. It shows up under effects in Adobe Audition, and two other audio editing programs. But every time I launch Pro Tools, it fails to load Waves or recognize it. I've uninstalled Pro Tools twice now as well, thinking it might be a glitch in the program. I clicked the repair button even more times than that.

Can anyone help me out of the dark here?

Very greatful.

Do you get an errormessage? If so, please post it.

To what location did you install the plugins?

Do you see files with the names of the plugins in c:\programfiles\common\digidesign\dae\plugins ?

Well I'll be god damned. I installed it in that directory, instead of the default Program Files directory, and it loaded. Problem now is, my other audio programs are indicating they cannot locate waves - And NO, they dont prompt me to browse.

Glad i could help.

little explanation:

plugins used to be installed in the same folder-structure as the protools programfiles hwere. Somehow i think Digidesign wasnt happy with it, and started (i think from version 6.1 on) installing the plugins in that "common" folder. I think something went wrong with telling all pluginmanufacturers that, because this happens a lot....
