command 8 /control 24 or other control surface for HD
I just decided to upgrade to an HD2 setup form my 003 LE setup. I'm currently using a tacam 1884 as a control surface. I liked it because I could bring in eight more inputs via optical and I can easily expand it to 24 faders with FE-8s. (not to mention argosy makes a console for it) I'm thinking of getting a used command 8 or command 24 for use with HD. But I relly would like to understand the benefits of the command 8 or control 24 vs another solution. The command 8 is limited to eight faders but I guess it would do for the short term. In the long term I had some questions. Specifically, when I looked at the used price of a control 24 (or even a c24) I could get a tascam dm4800 or yamaha digital mixer and have more inputs and a decent sounding system. Can you fill me in on the control24 and C24 and why use it versus some other system?
