PT 11 hangs when "Restoring tracks..."

I created a session in PT10.3.8, and upgraded to PT11.3.1. I created a new session and am trying to import the session data, and it hangs on my Aux import EVERY time. It's infuriating.

Anybody got anything?

Will 11 open the original session?

It did initially. Though all the aux channels needed to be made inactive and re-activated in order to function. Then it locked up, and hasn't opened since.

A few things to try.

Import one track at a time to isolate issue.

Open with all plugs inactive (Shift-open), then reactivate one at a time.

Also, are there any plugins that have both an RTAS and AAX version in the plugin folders?

Thanks Drew. I'm relatively certain that there are AAX and RTAS plugins both. The problem seems to be with Superior Drummer, but I'm not super sure yet. The Shift+Open tip was awesome. The session popped right open.

It also seems to be Guitar Rig and Kontakt. I have updated all of those, but maybe I need to do a little more housekeeping.

Yeah, try making sure there is NO overlap between RTAS and AAX plugs. See if that makes things settle down. It's def plugin related.

It looks like with Yosemite, Native Instruments and the CoreAudio Manager don't like each other. Given that I'm using PT HDX, I can't currently launch Guitar Rig and some other NI plugs. Relatively large bummer.

It's not HDX that's the issue but Yosemite as you found out. A good thing is if you don't have NI hardware dependent plugins like GR5 or Maschine (even though you may not have the hardware controller) on a session you cans till work in PT and Yosemite. Just being in the plugins folder hasn't been a problem here (yet). The rest of NI plugins seem to be okay in Yosemite.

I had the same thing happened to me today. Found out I had a “space” plug-in that must’ve been expired. After I did the shift open I deleted the plug-in and it seems to work fine now.
