Looking for an External HD just for backups
Hey guys. Currently using:
Lacie d2 Quadra 1TB - Recording Drive OWC Mercury Elite AL Pro 250GB - Samples Drive Lacie something 1TB - Storage Drive The current storage drive is about full. Also its about 6 years old and is quite noisy and I'm looking at getting a new storage drive. I'm familiar with all the debates between Glyph, OWC, Avastor, etc. Question is how important is this when talking about a drive that's only for backups and isn't going to be recording the audio? The reason I'm asking is because I found a 2TB WD My Studio with FW400/800 etc for about $110. Where as buying an OWC 2TB drive would run me $210. As I said with this not being a performance drive would it be worth it to spend the extra cash on a better name or use it towards something else? Thanks for the help. Also curious as to how often you guys change external drives. After this new storage drive I'm thinking of getting a new recording drive as the d2 is about 3-4 years old. |
