Default Just added Mout 2408mk3 to my HD192 rig running PT10, problems with 2408mk3

I just purchased a used 2408 mk3 and hooked it up to my pci424e card. I got it to work yesterday no problems. I took it to a studio to track today and it gave me nothing but problems.

Sometimes the top button on the right "meters" would flash and I couldn't get it to operate it. my computer recognized it, I ran the motu set up for the audio, set the appropriate paths in the digi I/O in PT 10. When I would record arm a track; the dialog where you can change the automation/turn of the voice for the track would go gray. When I assigned an output for that track, the VU meter would just peg. I would switch to the HD192 in's and outs...no problem. Sometimes when this was going on the "meters" light would light up....sometimes it would flash.

Eventually; I restarted my computer several times and it started acting funny, and now it won't boot. It cycles on, I can here the optical drive spin, then it cycles again....no display. So i'm pretty sure it's my video card.

My question: Can the video card being bad cause problems with my audio Rig? I'm popping in a new video card in the morning over at the studio. I'm hopping that will fix the computer problems....but if it doesn't fix the 2408mk3 from acting strange...gonna have to be on my toes.

Thank to anyone that reads this, with an extra special thank you to anyone who posts. My but was pretty tight today, just waitin for tomorrow.

I can't see the Motu causing that, no. Sounds like there were underlying issues with the computer..

Check for bubbled capacitors on your motherboard too, also could be a power supply issue.

Yeah, I figured it was a computer issue and not the 2408. I had no problems with it before I moved it. I went to a shop, put in a new video card, took my PC back to the studio and started up no problem. Motu 2408 acted completely normal. Strange how a wonky video card can throw everything off.

I was upset. I've got a 4 piece kit with 13 mics set up, and can only borrow km184's for the weekend. I lost a day, but should get all my drum tracks finished tomorrow. Thanks for your reply.

Glad you got it figured out. Bummer about the timing, kinda ruins the moment!

Upgrading the ageing and underpowered original gtx120 on a 4,1 Mac Pro helped with a couple of issues.
