Building a new system
Its gotta be a PC, needs to be as bulletproof as possible running XP, Mbox or AMIII, Pro-ToolsLE 6.1. I'm gonna have a Echo-Layla audio card installed in the system. Have about $2500 to work with. Looking for suggestions on motherboards, videocards, processors, memory, etc.

DCarlson, just as a side note; you stated that you have $2,500 to spend on your computer, but I just wanted to remind you that you don't have to a 3 ghz+ processor to run dense audio sessios in PT. a 2-2.5ghz processor will get great results, and in the meantime you can save for that kick ass computer as it drops in price. You should only need to spend $6-700 for a really nice cpu. All the while you can spend that extra money on gear. Anyway, just a thought... |
