Default apogee rosetta 800 jumper question

hi...my english is not as good as i wanted and this is my first post...but....
i've recently buy an rosetta 800 with x-mix card to replace my 888/24...well i supossed that the diference was bigger than i've heared.. i'm not sure if i put the jumper in the rigth place...calibration in pro tools is -18 and the options in apogee is -13/-16/-20..any help???
i have good mic preamps and good microphones too but i'm not so happy and i cant feel that huge difference that most people says.....what i'm i doing wrong....
