I believe I have accomplished my mission...or at least the purpose of this thread.

After a BIG learning curve, and a lot of good advice, I have the Quad back up and running.

Tyan Quad (original) / 003R / PT8 / 48-1024...32 tracks and 133 Dverbs (DVERB 1 from 7.4). A stark difference from 28 hours ago when the count was 25 tracks and 100 Dverbs. Considering I had a hunch I could push the machine a little further and through all of the good people on this forum I think I have accomplished my quest. I should'nt ask for more out of this box...how much do you really need anyway?

At this point I have pulled out the Samples Drive and will have an IT friend of mine clean it off and reformat it for me on Monday. As soon as I unplugged the Samples drive, the OS drive automatically went back to the (system) and not (boot). I loaded PT 8 did this quick DaveC and it's rockin...

I cant thank you all enough for the assistance.

Ross

PS...the 9073 error is GONE. The Disk Usage hit 50% max.

Well done with the trouble shooting and enjoy your Quad. Many of the Tyan Quads were great solid systems.

Ross,

Just saw this thread! The system always ran great for me; Did you get everything figured out? Please call me if you're still having issues, I'll come over and help troubleshoot!

P.S. The system drive was partitioned that way because that's the way it was specified in the original build thread:

"- Partition your C drive. 15-20G will be fine for XP, PT LE and plug-ins etc. The remainder will be used for storage such as drive images, install apps, Everest, san2005 etc. On my system I made the C drive 15G and the rest is for storage in which I called the drive partition "Storage"."
