Default Can not open sessions anymore?????

after configuring a new system I can no longer open any session files. PT opens up and if you try to open a session it will not open, you can keep clicking open but it dosent do anything. If you try to open it from windows explorer PT opens up and it says access violation. This is driving me nuts any one have any ideas it would be a life saver......

Do a search for that error. It was just solved in the last week.

Also, this is usually related to software issues and IRQ conflicts. You may need to uninstall all PTLE files and Pace files and reinstall. I've seen some people that had to reformat their hard drives and reinstall Windows again. Hopefully you will find an easier solution.

Here is another solution to an earlier problem:
"I was able to resolve my access violation errors on my Windows system by going into Control Panel > Multimedia and clicking "Do not use this device for audio processing" and "Do not map though this device"

There have been others that Yavuz helped out that had to do with IRQ conflicts. Post your IRQ settings here and lets take a look.

Default Re: Can not open sessions anymore?????

This situation happened to me once using PT Free. My PCI Promise 100 controller was shown correctly in Device Manager so I hadn't bothered to load it's driver. I figured it was already loaded since Device Manager showed it as a working SCSI device.

I loaded the Promise drivers and suddenly I could open my sessions again. Probably has something to do with the way DMA was being handled on that controller. Other than opening PT Free sessions the drive and controller had been working fine that way.

If you went from one to two drives, go to file allocation in the drop down menu and click CUSTOM AALLOCATION so that it knows it has two drives now
