I suspect the replacement has been here for a long time... the S3, there does not seem to be much real space between the S3 and modular S6 to add more products, and Avid has been asked enough time to support two S3s working together which would likely fill much of that space, at least from a pricing viewpoint. And I hope Avid has their hands full fleshing out S6 features.

Not being EUCON makes the C24 a dead-end. I am surprised Avid held onto that for so long, I wonder if there were hundreds of units of old stock sitting in warehouses that finally ran out.

For schools where the C|24 see,ed popular I hope Avid is damn aggressive with helping get Low end S6 systems in there.

The preamp and monitoring section of the C|24 are unimpressive enough there are lots of better options, and lots of folks moving up to add a control surface already have preamps, interfaces with preamps and maybe a monitor controller already.

But if you *really* want a C|24 the used market is where I would look.

Something to consider; the older(and unsupported) Control 24 may get a new lease on life as Nyrinck have made some solid progress on getting it(and ProControl) on the current version of PT(11, 12 and 2018)

True, but D-Command and D-Control just announced end of support, so their future is suddenly a bit unknown

As are all the others mentioned. No way Avid will do to the D-Cimmand what they did to the ProControl/Control 24. Waaaaaay too many post houses using them, whereas the ones mentioned before were primarily an audio based useage.

End of support means Avid will no longer pay for maintaining compatibility. What happened to ProControl and Control 24 had to do with controlling the DAE engine directly. This was never the case with the earlier HUI format or the later Avid controllers.

Say what? 32? Do you mean 24 or 40, or have I missed a chop shop cutting faderpacks in half somewhere?

Or I guess you could mean D-Control which can have 32.
