Default About having a dedicated HDD for audio

Hi, want to ask a few questions about dedicated harddiskdrives for my pro tools audio files.

I recently bought a "LaCie d2 Hard Drive Extreme with Triple Interface" wich I was planning on using as an audio harddrive.

Firstly, isn't this a pretty good HDD to use as a dedicated audio HDD? I read the support on digidesign.com and it said that drives with Oxford 912 bridge are qualified with FireWire 800 for Pro Tools 7.3 on MacosX and as far as I know this drive has it.

Secondly and more importantly, if I want the best performance possible should I only put the audio files on the disk? I know that as a dedicated harddrive your not supposed to put other things on it but should I also save my pro tools session somewhere else?

Here's my setup:
I'm running Pro Tools 7.3.1 on MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo and I'm using the classic Mbox

I think that's all I need to know for now

This disk should be fine, I have Lacie D2 FW800 drive and its worked perfectly day in day out for the last couple of years. Just save your whole session to the Lacie, no need to save your .ptf/.pts files to somewhere else. Basically keep the lacie for your work, rather than running apps from it or anything else.

You should have no problems.
