Pro Tools file location?
I have been recording some songs of my band and saving each one. I noticed it's very confusing how the files are saved?....It will have the main Pro Tools file then a folder that says "Audio?" It seems like it's really tricky to find the files anfter saving them; it will start in one folder, than another folder in that one, and so on...
Is there anyway I can prevent this whole "folder inside a folder" location when I save the files or is there a specific way these Pro Tools files must be saved?... Also, when I go back to the file I noticed there's the Pro Tools file then another folder that says "Audio".....my question is this, when I want to move a Pro Tools file do I also have to move the matching "Audio" folder file as well?.... kinda confused?.... any advice would be appreciated, thanks |

Re: Pro Tools file location?
The problem seems to be that you're using the same session for all your recordings. You should create a new session in a new location on your hard drive.
To fix the current situation, use the 'Save Session Copy In' option from the file menu and choose the option to copy all audio files, then save that session to a new location on your drive. This will consolidate all the audio used in the session to a new location. |
