Question about finding file location issue
Here's the issue:
I previously had a Dell Windows XP Pro machine with: Pro Tools LE 5.3.1 and a Digi 001 Everything worked fine, and I recorded some sesssions that I am working on. I was recording my sessions to an external USB-2 hard drive, and it worked great. However, the PC started throwing errors that looked like motherboard problems. So, I get a new Dell (using some extra discount my office gets), and I setup the new Windows XP Pro machine with: Pro Tools LE 6.4 (Windows machine has Service Pack 2) and the Digi 001 Everything is working fine, however for one thing: When I hooked up the external USB-2 Hard Drive, it assumed a different drive letter name. Now when I open a session in Pro Tools LE 6.4, the session wants to go and find the audio files in their new locations. I select "automatically find" and everything seems to work OK. All my files appear to show up, and it looks good. However, I go to shut down and it says the "find file locations" process is still running. So, I close the session but don't save any changes. I'm wondering what is the best steps I should take to: 1 - Get the sessions to know where the file locations are, now that the hard drive is using a new letter name. 2 - Not lose all my session audio Thanks for the help, Hammster |
