Default Re: CPU usage different with 2019.5?

Will update my 2010 Mac Pro 12 core cheesegrater tonight with Mojave and PT 2019.5 and see if the 12 real and 12 virtual cores on the system usage do anything different on sessions (HD Native/PT Ultimate). Fingers crossed. Installed PT 2019.5 vanilla on my Windows 10 laptop without a hitch. Seems faster too.

Good luck, but Avid says that
"MSI Radeon RX560 required when using macOS Mojave" under the MP 5,1 System Requirements HERE

Do HDX users need to update to Mojave to realize the CPU usage improvements or will we also see the improvement with Sierra? I was thinking it is a PCIe buss contention issue causing the CPU Spikes and maybe the new HDX firmware and PT 2019.5 fix it on all 3 qualified OS X versions...

I’m not upgrading to Mojave.

The requirements are Sierra or higher. There shouldn’t be a reason to update to Mojave to run 2019.5.

Well, I'm not a Power PT user and sure don't have the most powerful Mac but it took less than 2 minutes before I got a -6101 error and playback stopped. PT CPU usage shows a 24% usage. Everything seems well under control but that error message popped up quick.

Also, on the first opening I got the message that PT is not optimized bla bla bla. So, business as usual here with PT 2019.5, nothing to see move along...

Win 10 Pro here...PC specs below...installed clean as a whistle. Runs FAST...changed plugins and VIs on the fly on several tracks...works without a hitch...balance across 12 cores is pretty damn good tho first core has highest which seems "natural" as it offloads work to other cores but MUCH better than last version. Seems to "cascade" the load across cores from high to low.

Impressed so far. Need to do more testing but looks good!

I have to say that I am so far extremely impressed with how well this runs!!

Running at 32samples @ 48kHz... on a session with about 40 tracks, with track punch active!!! Really smooth!

(MacPro 2013 6Core)

What is 32 samples? Do you mean 32 bit floating point bit dept?
