Like more than if you buy $350 PT 9 upgrade and then $350 upgrade to PT 10?

That's never happened before.

It costs the same to get to PT9 from any version of PT provided you have a piece of hardware made after 2002.

PT8 was $150 to anyone who wanted it. ($250 for HD users)

The likelihood of Avid making you pay for PT9 before paying for PT10 is slim to none.

I agree. I highly doubt it. It will likely be $350 (maybe less for PT 9 users). Avid seems to charge HD users more than Digidesign did for upgrades. But still reasonable.

I guess not all of us have been using Pro Tools since 1995.

It IS true. Thursday night, or Friday morning at 12:01 AM, Avid is releasing the most revolutionary hardware ever made available to the public.

I'm gonna get banned from the DUC, but......

..

..

..

..

..

..

...

It's the FLUX CAPACITOR.

Providing vintage sounding results with todays modern technology.

Here's how it works....

Fire it up, get to 88 MPH, and it will take you to a brand new Tape Machine, Neve, and Geffel.

Thanx Digi. Now all I need is a bolt of lightning so I can get back ... to work

...It would have been funnier if you said "88.2 MPH".

This is the 79th of 79 such posts I've read in recent years, and it's ALWAYS from a "good source." Jumping to the punch without any real evidence. One thing's for sure: if your source truly had a definitive answer they wouldn't be revealing it.

Apple didn't actually discourage the rumors about the iPhone 5 because it was great press. Avid is becoming comparably savvy, planting many seeds. I bit into the first few rumors, but the remaining 75 or 76 are just noise.
