Re: Free verb plugins
I believe the Waves demos are still fully functional but 30 day time limited. They are quite popular and sound very nice. I would suggest going that route for the time being. Then you can decide wether software reverbs are worth the money to you.

Re: Free verb plugins
Go with one of the Waves bundles--not cheap, but will cover your verbish needs.
The Renaissance Maxx bundle has Rverb, and it does the trick quite well. You will spend $300+. I never heard of free verb plugs...sorry

Re: Free verb plugins
If you cant afford to get a decent verb plug then maybe take a look at getting the FXPansion VST2RTAS converter,, then look arround for some of the free VST verbs,, most of them are a bit more character based verbs,, but still quite usefull,, if your looking to model rooms and environments then you are probably out of luck .
Having said that,,with a little work the DIGI rack verb can produce good results,,try using a short delay to add pre delay and an eq on the reverb track to add body and depth,, |

Re: Free verb plugins
I agree with Homebelly, go the vst2rtas route, it costs 99euors from FXexpansion, but it opens a world of fun! I downloaded about 50 free plugins using it and there are some gems out there, check out the DigiZine from a couple of months back, they did an article on vst2rtas.
Reverb wise, the payoff is of course juice, any free verb will be tough on processor, VERY tough.... "Ambience" is your best bet, lovely presets on it, but you'll have to bounce it down. have fun, if you have money go for the Waves

Re: Free verb plugins
Check out the "PowerCouple" including "Masterverb" from Wave Arts..... very nice for the money. (IMHO.... beats out most of them out there)
