Glide Punch?

Dear All,

I know Im probably daydreaming, but I am looking for a function that can punch (punch capture, punch preview, or punch snapshot) smoothly over a specified time (such as 200ms) in order to have a quick transition from existing to new automation. By default a punch is always hard, the end of a write pass, however, can be smoothly matched with existing automation by "auto match".
I was just wondering if anyone has workarounds for this, as I frequently run into problems with abrupt automation jumps (caused by punch commands) when working on a console.

Have you tried glide automation? You'd get a linear transition from selection start to selection end.

or, with track view set to any automation parameter : Ctrl Start X or Cmd Ctrl X.
