Default Digi 002 Console repair

Hi all looking for some help with my Digi 002 console. When the unit is powered on I get the mute button lighting up but thats it, it won't even go into Standby Mode and I've tried the manual reset etc... Now from all the research I've been doing I can only assume it's the infamous power harness problem. The issue with the research that I've done is that all of these threads I've looked up are from 2003 - 2007 when you were able to easily get replacement parts for Digidesign products. I'm wondering if anyone has a solution out there, as it'd be a shame to toss something over an issue that used to be easily fixable (assuming it is the power harness).

I've also tried both standalone and connected to my MacBook and it still won't give me Standby Mode so I know it's not my computer.

The power harness issue could be fixed , by removing the connector and reattaching it

More specifically, remove and reconnect each of the harness connections at least 6 times. This action scrapes thru the oxidation build up on the pins and sleeves. The power supply is screwed to the bottom panel, so remove all the screws(lay it face down on a folded towel for padding). Lift the bottom panel slowly and pay attention to the connections on the power supply(so you can get them back on correctly), then disconnect and set it aside. The power harness for the 002 console has a total of 4 connections(you just pulled one of them to remove the panel). One of the 4 is underneath the PCB that has the FW and MIDI ports, but you might be able to work that connection without pulling the board(if you need to pull it, its just some screws holding the board and several on the rear around the MIDI plugs). Reassemble and cross your fingers.
***IMPORTANT*** Never connect or disconnect the FW cable with the 002 or computer powered ON. That can(and usually will) fry the FW circuit in the 002, the firewire port on the computer, or both In any case, if this doesn't solve your problem, its not likely to be worth a pro repair. In that case, I would shop for a used 003(I just bought a perfect 003rack from a local pawnshop for $80)
