Default Fast Track C600 Digital OUT

It will be sound a little strange but ....

I have a C600 that is working very well... but the software and the USB 2.0 are out of date and unstable, Now I have a new Universal Audio APOLLO TWIN QUAD MKII on my PC with Cubase 9.5 but it has 2 INs instead that 4.
It's enough for me but I was thinking to use the the 4 INs of the C600, routing them on the Digital OUT and insert it in the Apollo digital IN.
Both interface are connected to the PC, Cubase has the Apollo as main interface.

Sound it good?? In your opinion is it a trick that can work? As I said the C600 is connected to the PC so I can use it's own control panel.

Can you suggest me the setup?

Thanks
Rino

I would recommend you sell the C600 and add an 8-channel lightpipe preamp via the lightpipe input of the Apollo. The C600 is not really designed to do what you need, and you can actually get 8 more channels with the right hardware. Some options to look at:
1-On a budget, the Behringer ADA8200(the red one). Solid performer and a real bargain
2-better but still not expensive, Focusrite OctroPre MK II or the new red model
3-really good, but getting pricey, the Midas XL-48(sounds killer on drums and guitars)

At add another Apollo Twin and get all the magic of more UAD DSP and the UAD console working across both (it will also work with ADAT inputs).

Or upgrade to an Apollo 8p or similar.
