Pro Tools 11 Activation Code For Transferred Licence

I bought a Pro Tools 10 and 11 bundle from eBay and now I would like to download ProTools, however I am asked for the activation code, which I don't have. I have seen on this forum that the person that transferred the license to my iLok account needs to transfer the license through Avid.

Do I need to contact the eBay seller or Avid to get the activation codes? Can you help me how this works?

What is asking for an activation code? Where are you trying to download from?

Do you have the licenses on your iLok?

Hi, I am trying to download the software from Avid website. I already have both licenses (ProTools 10 and 11) on my iLok, transferred by the eBay seller I bought the licenses from. But I don't have the actual ProTools software, just the licenses.

When I registered on Avid website and wanted to activate and download ProTools 11, I was asked for the activation code, however I don't have the code.

was this sold as a NEW bundle? In a new bundle you will get an Activation code which registers Pro Tools to your Avid account and then you provide Avid with your iLok account name and they send you the licenses and you can download the software from your account.

If this was "used" then its up to the seller to provide access to the software, maybe they can turn over their Avid Account to you.

You could also just download the Trial version of Pro Tools 11, its exactly the same.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. It is a USED bundle, so I will check with the seller about their Avid account.

I have downloaded ProTools 10, and I will download the Trial version of ProTools 11. I also read somewhere that I will not be able to get any updates if I am using the trial version - is this correct?

That's not true, the Trial version is the full version, you just get a time limited license, which you don't need since you already have the full license. All you need is the D/L link which you can get by signing up for the demo.

So you can get updates, BUT the updates, at least thus far, have not been posted publicly so you would need to have PT11 registered in your Avid account.... but since you don't, you won't be able to update, but that is not a function of the Trial, its because you don't have PT11 registered in your Avid account.

I don't think Avid transfers software registrations, so your best bet AFAIK is to get the seller to provide you with links from their account everytime there is an update, or have them transfer their Avid account to you by simply giving you the password and then you can change the password and email associated with the account.

At least I think that still works.

once you have avid product in your ilok account, you own it, you have to buy a phone support number, for about 50 dlls, and they will help you with that.
