I use the Albee method as well. But I would definitely like to see ARA available in PT!

You can definitely make it work. Fast as well.

But nevertheless melodyne is a bit of a pain right now.

If they are planning to support ARA we should see a huge newsflash some day that they have invented something new

Yeah like they did with Track Folders which has been in all major Daw’s for years and years. We do all our ARA2 work in Logicx and bounce down into Live10S and PTU.

rant mode on:

several FREE DAWs have ARA!! On the other hand we are paying for the most expensive DAW while it catches the rest with several years of delay.

rant mode off

it only took 12 years for track presets - when the Venue software had for years.
it took me 9 months for me to get Avid to acknowledge a ADC bug with Instrument Tracks.
So with that I would have to say "Don't hold breath" for ARA

And that’s why in exactly 23 days I am allowing my annual plan to expire and just gonna live with what PT is as of this writing.

So little value in what I have been paying year after year and now they doubled that to $200/year so bye bye unneeded support plan and very infrequent updates. You will not be missed in the least.

Its actually simple. start with Melodyne in the first insert slot(which is where its best used anyway). Open Melodyne and click the Transfer button. Close the Melodyne window and right-click on the Melodyne insert and select "Commit up to this insert". Where it gives you options on what happens to the original track, select "Do nothing", then Commit. As soon as it finishes, a new track will pop up. This new track is a throwaway and you can delete it, or just Hide and Make Inactive(this is the "safe" choice). Now go back to your original track and open Melodyne. All your audio is transferred in and ready for tuning

I am doing this "trick" all the time. But I wish they will implement ARA to make things easier.

Is there an area to vote for some wishes? The Ideascale is dead, or?

Its a pity that Avid is saying nothing to this Topic.

And yes, maybe in 4 years you can buy the ARA option for 5 Track α 100$
But it will only working on HDX systems without latency :)
