Pro Tools 12HD download mess

Well, I resisted the thousands of negative threads and comments about the PT12HD upgrade and roll out. I trepidatiously ponied up the $600, for a PTHD upgrade from my perfectly stable Production Toolkit. I am feeling uneasy about the future and having to shell out $199 each year for....Im not sure what? But I did it anyway, I guess because I had a tiny shred of faith left that AVID would make some smart moves.

And guess what? My brand new PT12 software download is broken, I have no support, because the plan requires me to download the software, which I can't. So now I'm stuck all weekend with no system (since I got Yosemite). Boy am I feeling burnt. Thanks AVID, I feel like the only customer who had faith, and now I'm feeling like I got duped. Not looking forward to this new future software and upgrade plan, especially because I can't even use it. If there is anyone from AVID listening, please help. Not sure where else to turn but to rant here.

um, no need to rant, Pro Tools 12 is not out yet.

You purchased a Pro Tools 11 HD upgrade, which should be available in your account. When PT12 is released (in a month a so), you'll get it for free. Also, your PTHD subscription will be $599/year, not $199.

The subscription is not $599 a year, the support plan is.

Yes I guess I bought PT 11HD with PT 12 upgrade. Regardless I can't download anything yet. Sorry to hear about $599/year for upgrades. Yep feeling even more duped. Hard to be an independent contractor working with professional tools. Jeez.

Just an observation - How are you "duped" as this has been out for quite some time now and when I invest in upgrades I do research Before I buy so saying you have been duped is pretty silly actually. It's up to you to do the research and get all the facts beforehand. Blaing Avid on this is wrong.

Yes I did the research. The feeling duped part is that I paid the $$ but I can't download the software. I feel justified complaining to avid only because they failed to deliver the product as of yet. That would make anybody feel taken advantage of or "duped" I think. If the company wants us all to invest in these new payment plans it needs to be able to deliver the products when we commit to buying them. Admittedly I am frustrated, but I feel it's justified in this case, Christopher.

I fully agree with you on those points, i was refering to the pricing scheme but the problems with activation and you being upset is not uncalled for

Tell us what you have tried and done?
have you registered the purchase in your account? does the download not show under your account "My Products"

Where did you get to before you met the download problem?

Hi Chris, the product does not show up in my products. When I go to the link there for support, it asks for my System ID, which I think is a code I received in my purchase email. When I put that in, it says system id invalid/used already. Support was not helpful, when I emailed. They just said it was fixed and closed the ticket. It is still not working.
