Pretty much no question that the NMP will Only run Mavericks. That's the way it is with the new iMac's. Why should this be any different?

Considering the price of the new MP at 12 cores, maxed RAM and now and expansion chassis which is going to cost another 1500.

So your gonna be into it at 7500 or more.

No thanks. Hackintosh.
I think the iTrashcan is going to fail.

Won't own one ever.

This is a good page to look at when investing in a new Mac.

They've been in people's hands for a few days now. Even the build to order models are starting to show up.

Yes, a few are around already, curious about PT benchmarks...

Here's a fun unboxing video with some other useful info. Good for those who haven't been able to see it in person yet:

i talked to one of the avid experts at namm this year.
he said that the NMP has a different chipset and MB than the old.
they had done some testing with stability but refused to say when they would truly say its stable and good to go.

further more he stated that its impossible for avid to support apple every time they come up with a new piece of hardware....
Mavericks is supported but the PT 10/11 share on same OS was not....

im really wanting to upgrade to the new MP and want all the thunderbolt expansion chassis and hard drive arrays but ill have to wait until this is tested and confirmed.
my company would really think me an ass if i did an upgrade for 15K and it failed......
