Mix and Edit groups from the C|8
Can Mix and Edit groups be conrolled by the C|8?
Say you have set groups up, as in Drums, Bass, Vocals, BV's, Guitar et etc. On the left hand side in PT LE you can show and hide these particular groups, or Aux tracks, or whatever you have set up... Can these be easily opened from the C|8. So, rather than banking through tracks and tracks to find what you want, you can hit a key that will bring your selected group into play. As you would with the mouse... >Only show aux channels for instance... So on the C|8 you'll have only your Aux's viewable, or your 6 guitar tracks only or your 6 vocal tracks viewable etc etc Would love some help n this Thanks Stuart Powerbook 1Ghz, 1Gb RAM Ext Glyph 120Gb Digi 002 R C|8 Mac OS 10.4.2 Reason 3.0.4

Re: Mix and Edit groups from the C|8
You cannot setup or select edit or mix groups via the Command|8. You would have to use the mouse to do that. If you have a group selected, the faders will be mapped to that group, but you would have to use the mouse to select the group.

Re: Mix and Edit groups from the C|8
Cool, thanks...I thought that may be the case...
Once you have set groups up is it a case of just clicking on that group to use them as a group? an un highlighting them when you want to use them a single tracks...Also will the grouped name be viewable in the tracks window above the groups section

Re: Mix and Edit groups from the C|8
Yes, if you set up the group and click on that group in the mix window then when you move the fader on one of the tracks in the group, they all move. If you click on the group again to un-highlight the group in the mix window, then you will be able to control a single track.

Re: Mix and Edit groups from the C|8
thanks.. So groups cannot be viewed in the 'show \ hide' window once they have been set up under groups.
I'm looking at selecting a group of tracks quickly, so that's all i see on the C|8. eg. Aix tracks, guitars drums etc. But not so that they are 'grouped' where the individual tracks move all at once. Just so I can view them quickly on the C|8. thanks stuart

Re: Mix and Edit groups from the C|8
Well, the C|8 will reflect the tracks you have shown. Mix and edit groups are for linking tracks, not for showing and hiding. I don't think it's possible to setup groups of tracks for purposes of showing and hiding in PT.

Re: Mix and Edit groups from the C|8
stuey,
Try this, 1. Hide all of the tracks except for we'll say the drum tracks. 2. Insert a marker 3. Click selection (if you choose Bar/Beat it will go to that part of the song) & Track Show/ Hide 4. Just repeat for the different tracks you want to pull up Once you have all of your different selections just go to Windows then Memory Locations and click on what you want to view. Just remember this will also have the same result to what you view on your screen. Hope this is what you are after. Len
