Can you run the mbox and 002r at the same time?
Also can you have multiple 002Rs working with your system?

NO and NO. With LE you can only have a single piece of DIGI hardware attached as the software will not recognize anything else. With the 002 and 002R, you can have up to 18 inputs by using external mic pre's via lightpipe and SPDIF. If you need more inputs, you will need to go HD or to some other system such as CuBase.

But as far as control surfaces you can use an 002 and a c|8 ?
So I guess for upgrade compatability a procontrol makes more sense.
I plan to upgarde to an HD system in the next year or so.

Hologram,
I'd double check that. I don't know that the proControl will work with LE systems.
The Control|24 and Command|8 both do work with LE and HD, but I am not sure about ProControl.
Would be interesting to know. Wonder if the new D-Command will work with LE (would be crazy to spend that much on a control surface to run LE, but would be a nice option if you had both an LE and TDM system or one was looking to upgrade in the near future like you just mentioned). Anyone know?

i agree, as much as i prefer the look of the command 8 and the idea of having seperate components in a system, i would go the 002, mostly for the reason it can be used as a standalone mixer, which would come in handy in a heap of situations i reckon... maybe its time digi gave it a facelift or something though eh?

Pro Control will only fly with TDM not LE. Command8 & Control24 both LE & TDM.

For a jog wheel, buy the Shuttle pro 2. It works great for me! (About $80)
Peace,
M.

Hello all,

I am just sitting here on a Sunday thinking about the very same thing. I wonder if I should let go of my 002 and replace it with 002R/Command 8.

My main reason is to save desktop space. Have the rack in one location and the control in another.

With the 002 in front of me, it makes my 2-19 LCD monitor too far away for my eyes, etc. Then agian, in order to get the control surface at center/front - Comm6 is the same depth as the 002 right?

Will Digi offer some type of trade up/down?

Comm. 8 sliders work just like the 002 right?

Thank you for any input -
