<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">You may find info on the AMD website as far as setting the FSB and Clock Multiplier and Voltage for this processor. I would put it in and see what speed it sets it at first.

Make sure your multiplier is set to 13.5 and your FSB is set to 133 (266Mhz for DDR).

That will give you 1.8Ghz which is the speed the XP2200+ runs at.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Do you have the Thoroughbred version of XP2200+ or Palomino?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Hey guys,
I heard back on the AMDZone bulletin board and Toms Hardware that there was no Palomino released with the XP2200. So lets scrap that idea.
Just got off the phone with Asus again and they have listed the A7M266 as supporting the XP2200 processor with bios version 1007. They are going to look into any issues they have come across with this combo and email me today. Feel free to call them early in the morning. They open at 5:30am pacific time and I got right through.

I built a system based on Allan's recommendation. I did however use a Switchcraft fan for the CPU. Power supply is Enermax 350. Although I love the system my one complaint is that it's so noisy. Is the problem the cpu fan or the Enermax? I know I'm speaking in generalities however can someone answer my question??

CPU fan. I saw some guys on an Overclockers website substituting the stock heatsink fans with low noise 70mm ones running at 2k rpm. The 80mm Panaflo series seem to be very popular also. I like those Enermax fans the best. Especially the manually adjustable ones.
You may want to check your case fans too and substitute these with the Enermax fans as needed. If you have the Enermax PSU with manual control you may want to turn it down during recording.

multiplier is set to 13.5 but the FSB thing won't go past 180MHz, what did you set yours to in your BIOS?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Mine set up automatically, but I overclocked it to 1.5ghz with a special CPU tool. If your jumper settings are set to Jumper Free, your bios should detect it automatically and there should be no need to do any adjustments.
Did you realize you are setting yours up for 2.43Ghz at those setttings you gave me. I think you should be at 13.5 X 133MHZ. With DDR that would give your FSB266 and put the CPU speed at 1.8Ghz.
