Default focusrite saff 40. audio clock error. PLEASE HELP

ok, so i have a new focusrite saffire pro 40 and am trying to use it with pro tools 9, but when ever i have it set up and i try to play anything in a session an error pops up saying "detected a problem with audio clock check buffer size" so i go to check the clock source and buffer size in the "saffire mixcontrol" (because it is not contorlled in the hardware title in protools. and every thing matches the session. the buffersizes are 512, its 48 bit and the clock source is internal.

i really do not know what to do next its been a huge struggle PLEASE HELP

THANKS a lot

windows 7 64 bit, hp dv7 laptop, also the firewire port im using is 4 pin

With my Liquid Saffire 56 I used to have similar troubles. What worked for me is prior to launch PT open the Mix Control, make the settings that fit your session, leave Mix Control open in the background, then open PT and your session.
BTW, did you choose the Saffire in the Playback engine as your playback device?
Other than that I have no idea. I would recommend contacting Focusrite. At least there german support is very responsive.

Edit:
Did you install the latest drivers from the Focusrite-website? They come with the new version of Mix Control (v. 2.2).
