003 Lost Communication

PT9, Crossgrade + exp pack, Mac book pro, mac osx 10.6.4, core 2 duo, 4 gig mem, 003 factory. Old session, new session, doesnt matter, here it is:

"Lost Communication with audio interface. Please try increasing 'H/W Buffer Size' or removing some plugins, make sure you have a valid clock source. Press OK to reset device (-6097)"

I press OK and Pro tools closes after about 15 minutes.

Never ever had this problem before.

Any ideas?

Now it gets
"The operating system held off interrupts for too long. If this occurrs frequently, try increasing the 'H/W buffer size' in the play back engine panel. (-6086)

H/W buffer size is 512. But PT doesnt freeze.

OK onward and outward I guess.

no its definitely 1 processor and 85 %.

Either message has not re-occurred for the last few minutes.. so far so good I guess

I activated Strike and the (-6097)message came up. the session is frozen. with pinwheel of death.

It's got to be Strike. I see in the readme,

"Using multiple instances of Strike..."

What? Excuse me? No. Anyway,

"...may cause crash or data loss. espically duplicating instances with loaded insturments. Strike uses a large amount of memory so it is possible to exceed the total amount of memory available on your system."

OK then.

Use, Print, Hide and Deactivate.

Strike is Kinda piggy So I guess 4gig of Ram is kinda small nowadays sheesh!
