003 firmware update help
I currently have Pro tools 8.01 installed on one hd, on another hd i install PT.7.4.2 when i open pt 7.4.2 i gave me message aying that my hardware which is the 003 rack + has firmware 8......cant remember the exact numbers and that the current firmaware is 7..... and it ask me if i wanted to update my current firmware, should i do this and is there anything negative

I would select to NOT change the firmware when running the older PT version. It should work fine. I went thru that for a while when I was upgrading a while back and never had any issues running with newer firmware with an older version of PT.
