Same on both accounts

That ik Ampeg B15 is awesome to my Ears as well

And I have the Bassdude as well from Plugin Alliance, I believe that’s what it’s called.

Genre probably has a lot to say about which Plugin you think is better.

Just so you take that into account

^^ +1
That's why is a good practice to have different options even the cheapest or free ones.

I thank you very much for all your discussion.
I have several things to think about now.
I guess with holiday sales hopefully approaching I can consider
getting some of these plugins.
I have also been toying with getting a external DI Box
for example a SansAmp except with that purchase you
basically get just that one flavour possibility IF I understand things correctly.
Thanks again for all the good discussion.

Try the Sansamp plugin you already have before buying one of the new hardwares, they don't make the PSA-1 anymore.

Thank you, quite a Duh! moment for me when the ProTools plugin had already been mentioned earlier. I must need another drink.

Another good one : Softube Bass Amp Room. I use PIA Bassdude and Sansamp for grunge a lot. I still like the sound of the bass through DI box into a good mic pre and/or DBX compressor straight to "tape". Tweak to suit with whatever plugin you want. Parallel flange or phase shifter-fun.

With judicious use of the controls the h/w Sansamp box can get more than the B15 sound. Just make sure you either have a fresh battery in it or a good phantom power circuit in your preamp.

If you do MIDI bass, take a look at AmpleSound plugins, they're awesome
