Default Ok help with new computer purchase since new MP is out

Hey gents, I have been wanting to upgrade from my pro cheese grater 3.33 6 core for awhile but held off for the new Mac Pro. Now that they've been announced, I don’t know if it’s for me. Seems a bit high priced just for an 8 core and not needing all the slots etc.

So that leaves me with:
Mac mini i7 (will this be big performance boost from what I have)
IMAC 8 core i9 (would like to use bigger screen ugh)
Hackintosh (seems like better specs for money but have no experience with one and don’t want to have a lot of problems)

Opinions? Especially if you have used some of these machines or just recently went threw same dilemma.
Will be running HD native and pro tools ultimate.

Don’t go hackintosh except if you love tinkering or know a close friend who can help you out.
That’s my advice
(I love to tinker and have made several hackintoshes)

iMac vs Mac mini?

If iMac, which is best? I see not to go fusion drive but looks like a lot i9 8 cores come installed with one.

If you only plan to use the box until the new cheesegraters are out, why not configure a nice new mac mini which you could sell in mint condition later this year?

You can custom order with an ssd - you're not stuck with a Fusion drive.
