Default Pro Tools Perpetual not letting me open PT, even though I've an annual subscription

I have an Annual subscription to PT, today I can't open PT as the software can't find a licence for Pro Tools Perpetual on my iLok. I don't know what Perpetual is , and why I would need to purchase another licence from AVID when I'm already paying them on a monthly basis.

I'm stuck here, I have work I need to do, but can't open the software. Is there anything obvious I'm missing??

I'm on Pro Tools 12 on a Mac.

Any help really appreciated. I've emailed Avid but they haven't replied.

Here are a few quick items to try. Do a full shutdown and then restart the computer. Try the Ilok in another USB port. Also try updating your Ilok/PACE software and resynchronizing. Good Luck.

thanks for your reply, hasn't worked unfortunately, very annoyed with Avid right now as I'm a paying customer for 15 years and this is stopping me getting my work done




any other ideas anyone??

Ask for help from your MyAvid account. That’s what it is there for. The forum is mostly about user discussions though Avid staff help from time to time. But if your work is impacted go the direct route instead of complaining here. They can see your account info.

You want the ASC (Avid Support Center) in the top right corner of your MyAvid account.

If you are on a subscription license, you wouldn’t have a perpetual license. My guess is either your subscription ran out and you haven’t renewed or your licenses no longer match. Avid staff can see this info.
