Default BSOD after installing Eleven Rack Editor

I own an Eleven rack firmware 2.0.1-Package 1.1.6 and I just installed the latest drivers. I then installed the new editor and installation seemed normal. I had the big "E" desktop Icon.

When I clicked the icon a small blank/white window opened, then the blank/white window filled my screen and then my computer had a BSOD saying that "Avid Eleven Rack Editor.msi" was the reason.

I reboot and now the Editors icon is the generic windows shortcut icon. When I double click it nothing happens. I cant uninstall or re-install without the installer saying "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." and it wants me to point to the path to find a folder containing Avid Eleven Rack Editor.msi.

I haven't had a BSOD since win98. Any ideas whats going on? thanks

It sounds like the install failed.

Where did you run the installer from the first time?
Have you tried running it again from the same location?
What version of Windows are you on now?

Thanks Junkgear, yeah something is weird in the installer. I tried to install from my desktop like I first did. I even unzipped the original zip again and still all the same. I just wish I could uninstall it to start fresh

Not sure if this will help anyone.
I have Windows 7 Ultra 64
Ptools 11 and 10

I downloaded installed the editor on my computer.
Install no issue.
I right clicked on the new desktop icon and noticed there was no "Run As Administrator", selection available for the newly created shortcut.

What I did was go to the folder where the editor files were
C:/programs/avid/elevenrackeditor
I right clicked the elevenrackeditor.exe file and selected create shortcut.
I copied that shortcut to my desktop and deleted the original one.
Now when I right clicked on the short cut the "Run As Administrator" was available.
I also right clicked the icon, selected properties and the compatibility tab and put a check mark on the box for "Run As Admin" and then selected apply.

After I did that I right clicked the short cut and selected run as admin and everything worked fine.

Again not sure if this will help anyone but I thought it strange that the original shortcut created by the installation had no choice in to run as admin. YMMV.

You may want to wait for some other opinions, but maybe a third party uninstaller could get rid of the leftover install.

I haven't personally used this one, so use it at your own risk, but it is free.
IOBit Uninstaller

If that works, when you go to reinstall, try right clicking on the installer and choosing Run as Administrator.
It seemed to help in the post above, and really can't hurt.

Have you tried a system restore?

That should clear out the Eleven Rack Editor failed install.

Then you can try again.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I did a system restore and re-installed the editor. And I did what ValkRider said as well. And it worked, a bit slow first opening but it works now.
